Lesson 10

Do Not Ask for a Potato Peeler in Rehab

‘One small step for Merse, a giant leap for sobriety.’

Anyone wanting to know what happened to me, day by day, blow by blow, during those two months in rehab can forget it, because I have. I can just about remember going into Marchwood and coming out again. That’s it. Everything else is a blur of meetings, tears and confessions. I honestly can’t recall what really happened, not clearly. All I can see is flashes, like a blurry action replay or scenes from an old film. Maybe I can’t remember it because it’s double hard to go through it again, but instead of skipping over my time in rehab I’m going to tell you, as best as I can, what I do remember.

It might be a bit sketchy, that’s all.
